President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a new dairy plant in the town of Agjabadi.

The head of state was informed that the sustainable socioeconomic progress in Azerbaijan has led to agricultural development in recent years. Namely, the development of livestock breeding has brought about growth in a number of related sectors. Due to an increase in the production of milk and dairy products, new enterprises are emerging in the districts with developed livestock breeding. This is yet another priority direction of the state policy on private enterprise development.

It was indicated that the opening of the Agjabadi dairy plant has provided further support to the private enterprise development in this district and become yet another successful step towards producing high-quality dairy products. The enterprise covers a total area of 2 hectares, while its indoor area is 5,000 square meters. The plant is fitted with equipment meeting international standards. Amenity planting has been carried out, decorative trees and flower shrubs planted outside the plant. A transformer has been installed at the plant to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The plant is expected to produce dairy products of 12 types.

President Ilham Aliyev commissioned the plant.

It was noted that the plant’s daily processing capacity is 20-50 tons. Milk is delivered from various Agjabadi villages. With this aim, five milk reception stations equipped with refrigeration facilities have been set up in adjoining villages. The plant has its own marketing network, a laboratory meeting modern requirements and other subdivisions. Fifty people are engaged in production, 20 at milk reception stations and 30 in the marketing network.

The head of state watched the process on the production floor and reviewed a stand where the plant’s products are displayed.

The President was informed that the plant produces a wide assortment of goods – cheese, Caucasian milk, Dovga, Ayran, curds, sour cream, butter, etc. Production of the Dutch cheese is automated. Each product is produced in separate shops with rigorous compliance with hygienic requirements. All products undergo laboratory testing. The ventilation system in the shops provides normal temperature on the production floor. There are two modern laboratories at the plant to determine the make-up and quality of milk and dairy products. After laboratory clearance, all finished products are stored in special warehouses and cold-storage areas. The assortment of the plant’s products is to be expanded in the near future.

After examining the plant’s operation, the head of state issued instructions and recommendations.
