Distinguished guests!

Let me warmly welcome all of you to Azerbaijan again!

This is the first visit by the Hungarian President to Azerbaijan. I am confident that the visit will produce very good results.

Our bilateral relations are developing successfully. We have already exchanged views about that. I am absolutely sure that your visit will contribute to a further development of these ties.

Our political relations are giving a strong impetus to the development of economic contacts. I am sure that the business forum due today will play an important part in the development of economic relations.

I do hope that your visit in general will produce very successful results and Hungarian-Azerbaijani relations will enter a new stage.

Very warm welcome to our country again.

Expressing his gratitude for the sincere reception, President of Hungary Pal Schmitt said:

- Dear Mr. President!

I would like to assure both you and members of the Azerbaijani government that I am very pleased to be paying the first visit to Azerbaijan as President of the Republic of Hungary.

We would like to congratulate you on the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan’s independence. You have made very good achievements over this time. When your progress is discussed in Europe, it is said that European countries may have taken a hundred years to achieve the same results.

I am very pleased that you see Hungary as Azerbaijan’s strategic partner. Considering Hungary’s location in Europe, we can indeed be your close partner, and we actually are. At the same time, our countries treat each other in a kind and friendly manner. I think there are great opportunities to benefit from ahead of our countries.
