Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of secondary school No 2 in the Nij settlement of Gabala District

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of secondary school No 2 in the Nij settlement of Gabala District.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school.

It was indicated that the school had been built at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The President was informed that the previous building of the school, built in 1930, had become completely dilapidated. The construction of a new building commenced in April this year. The school meeting modern standards has been built on an area of one hectare allocated for the construction.

There is a photo stand in the lobby of the four-storey educational institution, documenting the care and attention of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, First Lady Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva to the development of education in the country.

It was mentioned that 20 classrooms, two laboratories and other facilities have all the necessary conditions. Classrooms are fitted with modern equipment and amenities.

President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the classrooms. He was informed that the school’s gym meets the highest standards. The 200-seat assembly hall can host a variety of activities. The computer classroom is fully computerized and provided with high-speed Internet. The library on the second floor has a collection of more than 5,000 books.

Outside the school there is a football pitch. Landscaping and gardening work has been carried out.

The President congratulated the staff on the opening of the school and wished it every success.
