President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Azerbaijan, Mr. Mikael Eriksson.
Ambassador Mikael Eriksson reviewed the guard of honor.
Mikael Eriksson presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
Then the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan had a discussion with the Ambassador.
Indicating that the political relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Sweden were at a good level, the head of state said our countries were cooperating closely within the Eastern Partnership program. President Aliyev added that the development of bilateral relations was important from the standpoint of the Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation. Noting that Azerbaijan was interested in Swedish companies participating in various spheres of the Azerbaijani economy, the President pointed to a potential for developing the relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Sweden further.
Mikael Eriksson said his country was interested in expanding bilateral relations with Azerbaijan. Ambassador Eriksson recalled a visit by a delegation of Swedish business people to Azerbaijan last week, mentioning that work was under way to develop the cooperation between the two countries.
