President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Beylagan-Kabirli-Baharabad road.

The President reviewed the stand describing the road plan.

The head of the Beylagan District Executive Authority, Vagif Abdullayev, noted that fundamental changes had been taking place in the country’s road and transport infrastructure over the last 10 years. The highways of international importance crossing the country have been fully renovated to modern standards. The streets and roads in the capital and district centers have been landscaped. According to the orders and instructions of the head of state, now the focus is on the renovation of the roads linking villages and settlements. Testifying to a gradual strengthening of the Azerbaijani economy, these measures reflect the care and attention to the citizens of Azerbaijan living throughout the country. The construction and reconstruction of roads has become widespread in Beylagan District. The Beylagan-Kabirli-Baharabad road has been completely reconstructed.

It was noted that the road remained without renovation for years and became unserviceable. Reconstructed in a short time, it will facilitate the movement of the local population. After being reconstructed to modern standards, the 35-km fourth category road now has two bridges and 10 aqueducts. The road connecting 10 villages of Beylagan District and a settlement for IDPs from Khojavand will be used by about 34,000 people. To date, the overhaul of a 20.2-km stretch of the road has been completed. The overhaul of the rest of the road is ongoing.

After reviewing the road, President Ilham Aliyev met with local residents and construction workers.

Saluting the residents gathered for the opening ceremony of the road, President Ilham Aliyev said:

- I congratulate you on the opening of the new road. It is a great and comfortable road. The old road was in very poor condition. It wasn’t easy to drive on it. But now a beautiful and comfortable road has been laid. I am very pleased. I am glad that my orders are executed on time and with high quality. As you know, the construction of this road was possible on the basis of the order I signed. We receive letters and requests for the improvement of roads from all our regions. Now we have both the capacity and opportunities to do that and we are doing that.

President Ilham Aliyev: I congratulate you again. I am sure that all rural roads of our country will be improved in the near future.

Of course, at the initial stage we give priority to the main roads. This is natural. The construction of roads linking our capital with cities was, of course, in the foreground. And now is the time to build rural roads, and we are doing that.

The construction of roads gives people comfort and at the same time determines the development of each region. Because there can be no development without the roads. For people’s comfort, for the expansion of business opportunities, for the future construction of various tourist facilities roads, of course, are a central issue.

The construction of roads is ongoing in all our regions. At the same time, we are implementing other infrastructure projects, including those in Beylagan District. We are now in the process of gasification, a water supply project is already beginning.

So we will try to ensure that the remaining problems are resolved in the coming years, so that all our regions, all the districts, including Beylagan, develop even more successfully and faster.
