Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Azerbaijan, Erling Skjonsberg.

The Ambassador passed along the guard of honor.

Ambassador Erling Skjonsberg presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then, Azerbaijani President talked with the Ambassador.

Stressing that Azerbaijan attached great importance to development of bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Norway, the President noted that Norway had launched its first active cooperation with Azerbaijan immediately after Azerbaijan’s restoration of independence. Touching upon the activities of Norwegian “Statoil” company, President Ilham Aliyev mentioned the existence of favorable investment climate for effective work of foreign companies in Azerbaijan. Having wished success to the Ambassador in his work, the President expressed confidence in further development of bilateral relations during the Ambassador’s diplomatic activities.

Erling Skjonsberg said he felt honored to start his diplomatic activities in Azerbaijan. The Ambassador vowed to spare no efforts to preserve the friendly relations between the government of Norway and Azerbaijan and further expand these relations.
