Ilham Aliyev reviewed secondary schools No 53 and 21 in the Yasamal district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed secondary schools No 53 and 21 in the Yasamal district of Baku after major overhaul and reconstruction.

Major overhaul and reconstruction of secondary schools in the capital are carried out in accordance with the action plan envisaged under the State program on the socioeconomic development of Baku and its suburban settlements for 2011-2013. Along with the major overhaul and reconstruction, the construction of additional classrooms, new academic buildings, gyms, assembly halls and canteens continues. These are also fitted with the necessary equipment.

First, President Ilham Aliyev reviewed secondary school No 53 after major overhaul and reconstruction.

Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov informed the President about the work done. It was noted that the first building of the school was built in 1961. In 2008, a second building for 360 pupils was constructed. Currently, the school provides education to 1,780 children. The school has been renovated in accordance with the highest standards on the eve of a new school year. All classrooms, subject-specific rooms, chess and music rooms have been renovated and fitted with the necessary equipment.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev reviewed secondary school No 21.

The President was informed about the work done. It was noted that the school building was constructed in 1953, first functioned as an evening school, in 1958 was an eight-year school and in 1976 became a complete secondary school. After visiting school No 21 on 5 September of last year, the President of Azerbaijan issued an order to construct a new school building to eliminate congestion. According to the instruction of the head of state, a new three-storey school for 340 pupils has been constructed in line with the latest standards. In addition, all classrooms, subject-specific rooms, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, the assembly hall, the library, the canteen and the first-aid room of the school have been overhauled and equipped with modern facilities.
