The 4th session of the Turkish-Azerbaijani High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council held
The 4th session of the Turkish-Azerbaijani High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council has been held in Ankara with the participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said:
- Dear Mr. President, my dear brother Ilham Aliyev!
Dear members of the delegation!
I want to welcome you to Ankara and express the special joy I feel in entertaining you in your second home – Turkey.
I am very happy to preside over the fourth session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Turkey-Azerbaijan together with my dear brother Ilham Aliyev. I ask for God’s help in making the upcoming discussions and assessment benefit our countries.
My dear brother, we have just held a one-on-one meeting. We have had the opportunity to thoroughly evaluate our bilateral relations. Within this framework the members of our delegations also met with colleagues. A little later our honorable ministers will present the results of these meetings to the Council.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said:
- This is my first official visit this year. And this is natural. It is being paid to Turkey. It has already become a tradition. After election and at the beginning of each year we greet each other and meet, because the challenges ahead are very important. We need to successfully cope with these challenges. As you pointed out, in recent years Turkish-Azerbaijani relations – the relations established on the basis of friendship and fraternity – have reached a level of strategic cooperation.
All of the work done shows that where there is a joint political will, it is possible to implement large projects. First of all, I want to emphasize your desire to see Azerbaijan in G20. The fact that you have invited Azerbaijan is a great honor for us. This confirms once again the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherly ties, because this step is actually based on the history of our unity and shows the world how attached Turkey and Azerbaijan are to each other.
I want to express special gratitude for the invitation.
