I join you in celebrating a major milestone in three decades of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States.
As you also mark the 100th anniversary of your first independence, Azerbaijan is more prosperous and connected to the global economy than ever before. Azerbaijan’s prolific oil fields bring stability to world energy markets. Your gas production will help ensure the energy security of Turkey and Europe.
I encourage Azerbaijan to advance your economic and judicial reforms that will build on the success of your energy projects. I look forward to working together to make our great countries and the Caucasus region more prosperous, peaceful, and secure.
